Naturally restoring volume & contours: wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid at Dr. Nichlos

Small wrinkles and fine lines are often the first signs of skin aging and often make the face look older and more tired than it actually is. With a targeted injection of the wrinkles with hyaluronic acid, they can be plumped up from within and the skin’s appearance smoothed.

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our body and is able to bind large amounts of water. We make use of this property in wrinkle injections in Frankfurt to improve your appearance so that you feel good.

Schedule a non-binding consultation with Dr. Nichlos now. In a calm atmosphere, the experienced specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery is happy to explain which injection methods exist or whether other treatment methods are better suited to you.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a transparent, gel-like substance found in the human body. Chemically, it is a long-chain polysaccharide, a chain of sugar molecules. It is found, among other places, in connective tissue, joint fluid and the eye. One of its most important properties is binding water, which has a plumping effect and thus provides volume. It also gives the skin suppleness and elasticity.

However, the body’s hyaluronic acid content decreases with age, so the skin loses volume and elasticity. The result: the skin loosens, and fine lines and wrinkles appear. Injecting hyaluronic acid into the face (for example the forehead or nose) can counteract wrinkle formation and give the skin new firmness. The volume gained through the hyaluronic acid treatment can be used not only for wrinkle correction. Lips can also be injected with hyaluronic acid; you can find more on our page Lip filler in Frankfurt.

Dr. med. Emmanouil Nichlos has specialized in treatments with hyaluronic acid for more than 17 years and has extensive experience in minimally invasive wrinkle and volume therapy. With precise technique and a pronounced sense for natural proportions, he aims for harmonious results.

What areas of use are there for hyaluronic acid?

The special properties of hyaluronic acid can be used for various areas of application in medicine. Best known is wrinkle injection with hyaluronic acid in the face. Here, hyaluronic acid is used to plump up skin that has loosened with age and to soften wrinkles. Typical treatment areas are the face (here mainly marionette lines and nasolabial folds), neck and décolleté, but the procedure can also be used for hand rejuvenation.

In addition, hyaluronic acid also lends itself to the targeted contouring of individual facial areas. For this reason, hyaluronic acid is used, among other things, to give lips or sunken cheeks more volume, to contour the jaw area (jawline) or to soften dark circles.

What happens before the hyaluronic acid treatment?

Regardless of whether you want wrinkle treatment on the forehead, eyes, cheeks or lips, every treatment at our practice in Frankfurt is always preceded by a personal consultation with Dr. Nichlos, specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery.

Describe your wishes to him and get advice on whether a wrinkle injection with hyaluronic acid is suitable for you. He prepares an individual concept for treating your wrinkles, explains the procedure and what you should pay attention to before and after.

During the consultation, Dr. Nichlos also informs you about the possible risks of wrinkle injections and is of course available after the initial consultation for questions and facts about hyaluronic acid and its use as a filler.

Procedure

How does the hyaluronic acid treatment in Frankfurt work?

The wrinkle injection with hyaluronic acid is performed on an outpatient basis at our practice in Frankfurt. First, we thoroughly clean and disinfect the treatment area, then numb it with an anesthetic cream. Although Dr. Nichlos uses very fine needles for the hyaluronic acid injection that are barely noticeable, everyone experiences pain differently, and this way we want to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you.

Once the numbing cream takes effect, Dr. Nichlos injects the hyaluronic acid precisely into the relevant areas. Here the hyaluronic acid spreads in the tissue. If needed, he then performs so-called fine molding after the wrinkle injection to achieve the desired shape. The treatment takes only about 15 to 45 minutes.

You do not need to plan for any downtime after a wrinkle injection, but please follow our notes and tips on proper behavior after the treatment.

Aftercare

Aftercare following the hyaluronic acid treatment: What you should keep in mind

It takes a short time for the precisely injected hyaluronic acid to spread in the tissue as desired. For this reason, do not apply any pressure to the treated areas in the first 1 to 2 days (not even a gentle massage!). Take it easy on the day of treatment and rest. That means avoiding physical exertion and intense sports on the day of treatment. From the following day, sports are possible again. If needed, you can gently cool the areas. If needed, a follow-up appointment is possible after 14 days. After the hyaluronic acid treatment, protect your skin from direct sunlight and heat, and also avoid tanning beds and saunas.

Risks

What are the risks of a hyaluronic acid treatment?

As a substance the body produces itself and a natural component of connective tissue, hyaluronic acid is generally well tolerated. Nevertheless, as with any treatment, there are risks. We discuss them with you in detail beforehand. In reaction to the injection, slight redness, small bruises or swelling may occur at the injection sites. The treatment area may be very sensitive to pressure. These side effects of the treatment are only temporary, however, and usually subside on their own within a few days.

Cost

How much does hyaluronic acid treatment cost in Frankfurt?

Hyaluronic acid treatment:

To financing

What is included in the price?

The cost of a hyaluronic acid treatment is made up of several medical services. These usually include:

  • detailed consultation (€100, fully credited if you go ahead with the treatment)
  • analysis of your facial anatomy and individual treatment planning
  • injection of the hyaluronic acid by the specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery
  • medical care during the treatment
  • follow-up appointment if needed

The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis at our practice and usually takes between 15 and 45 minutes.

The cost of a hyaluronic acid treatment depends on the treatment area and the amount of filler required. Since hyaluronic acid is dosed individually, the price depends primarily on the amount of product used.

At our practice, the cost of a hyaluronic acid treatment generally starts at:

  • Hyaluronic acid treatment: from €350 per 1 ml

Depending on the treatment goal, more than 1 ml of hyaluronic acid may be required. Common treatment areas include the lips, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheeks or the jawline.

In a personal consultation, Dr. med. Nichlos analyzes your facial anatomy and prepares an individual treatment plan. He informs you transparently about the expected cost of the treatment.

Financing

Can you finance a hyaluronic acid treatment?

Since hyaluronic acid treatments are usually performed on an outpatient basis and have comparatively low treatment costs, financing is usually not necessary.

If several treatments or combined aesthetic treatments are planned, financing through an external financing partner may still be possible in individual cases.

We are happy to inform you about the options in a personal consultation and to prepare an individual treatment plan.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about hyaluronic acid treatment in Frankfurt

Both hyaluronic acid and Botox are used for wrinkle treatment, and the two procedures are very similar in how they are carried out, but they work in different ways and are therefore suited to treating different wrinkles.

Hyaluronic acid is a classic filler. Thanks to its moisture-binding properties, it plumps up the tissue and thus gives the skin more volume, which smooths the wrinkles. This type of wrinkle treatment is suited above all to wrinkles caused by age-related loosening of the skin, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines or fine lines on the chin.

Botox, on the other hand, is a muscle relaxant that inhibits signal transmission between nerves and muscles, so that the muscles relax and the wrinkles smooth out. This applies to so-called expression lines caused by excessive muscle activity, such as wrinkles around the eyes or at the temples, forehead lines, frown lines or lip lines.

Depending on the type and depth of the wrinkles, a combination of hyaluronic acid filler and Botox can also make sense as a wrinkle treatment. Let an experienced physician such as Dr. Nichlos advise you on which injection method is best suited to fulfill your wish for a younger appearance.

A first effect is visible after a few days, depending on swelling. The final result shows after about 10 to 14 days, once any swelling has subsided and the hyaluronic acid has fully bound.

The result generally lasts 6 to 18 months. Factors such as metabolism, treatment area and the product used influence the duration. Regular touch-ups can help maintain the result in the long term.

Allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid are extremely rare, as it is a substance the body produces itself. At Dr. Nichlos’ practice, only high-quality, clinically tested products are used.

The lower eyelids are among the areas that Dr. Nichlos treats with hyaluronic acid, for example to soften dark circles. Whether an injection makes sense for you depends on the findings and is clarified during the examination. With pronounced under-eye bags, a lower eyelid lift may be an option instead.

A hyaluronic acid treatment starts at €350 per 1 ml. The price depends on the treatment area and the amount required; depending on the treatment goal, more than 1 ml may be needed. Common areas are the lips, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheeks or the jawline. After the consultation (€100, fully credited if you go ahead with a treatment), you receive a treatment plan with the expected costs. Further prices can be found in the price list.

Yes. The body breaks down hyaluronic acid on its own over time. If you do not want to wait, it can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase, for example in the case of overcorrection or asymmetry. The effect usually sets in within 24 to 72 hours. You can find more about lip treatment on the page Lip filler.

No, as a rule it does not. A hyaluronic acid treatment is an aesthetic procedure and is not covered by health insurance. Dr. Nichlos’ practice in Frankfurt does not hold statutory health insurance accreditation and bills privately: it treats self-pay patients exclusively, as well as privately insured patients when there is a medical indication. Treatment starts at €350 per 1 ml of hyaluronic acid.
